Birding 101

Would you like to know what types of birds live in your Tennessee State Parks and don't know where to start? Join  Tennessee Stewardship Ecologist - Allan Trently for our introduction to birding workshop - Birding 101. Learn some tips and tricks for starting out on your birding hobby. Learn about birding gear from spotting scopes to field guides and practice your skills while searching out birds that call Johnsonville - Home. 

Meet at the Johnsonville State Historic Park Visitor Center. Doors will open at 8:30am. Group will then caravan to the park. Wear clothes and footwear for hiking. Walking will be less than 1 mile over level surfaces. Bring binoculars if you have or the park will have some pairs to loan out. No experience necessary. 

Birding 101 is presented in partnership with Tennessee Valley Authority with underwriting through their Community Outreach Support Grant Program.
