Remembrance Celebrations August 20 & 21, 2022
Fast approaches the first anniversary of the floods that forever brought Tennessee neighbors closer than ever before. On August 21, 2021, floods came through Middle Tennessee and took 20 individuals we now honor in celebration and remembrance.
Join Humphreys County August 20-21 as neighbors, family, and friends come together to celebrate those lost to the floods and the communities that came together to rebuild, physically and spiritually.
Saturday, August 20, 2022 | Bike Ride & Candlelight Memorial
Saturday, August 20, 2022, the Memorial begins with a bike ride.
Following the ride, at nightfall, begins a candlelight memorial, honoring the memories of all those lost to the flood.
We encourage the public to bring lawn chairs. Chairs will be brought for those who are unable to stand.
Sunday, August 21, 2022, | Dedicated Services
Sunday, August 21, 2022, Waverly Church of Christ will hold a service dedicated to flood victims and emergency personnel, with lunch afterward. Other places of worship also offer dedicated services; please contact your congregation for further information.
Remembrance Assembly
Sunday night, at 6:00 pm at the Waverly Central High School (WCHS) Auditorium, Master of Ceremonies, Mark Beecham, will present those honoring the night with song, speeches, and community updates, and prayer.
