Johnsonville State Historic Parke is the site of a unique Civil War battle and the location of Johnsonville prior to the creation of Kentucky Lake.  Located on the East bank of Kentucky Lake, three miles north of U.S. Hwy 70 and the town of New Johnsonville, this 600 acre park has a wide variety of plant and animal life. This park has been established to preserve and to protect the rich cultural and natural resources that exist.

The Duck River Tennessee Wildlife Refuge

The Duck River Tennesse Wildlife refuge provides habitat for resident wildlife species and other migratory birds. The refuge’s diversity of habitats also supports breeding, wintering and migration habitat for 301 bird species and habitat for 51 mammals, 89 reptiles and amphibians and 144 species of fish. White-tailed deer can be found throughout the area, along with smaller animals such as raccoon, foxes, squirrels, beaver, and rabbits.
