Civil War Days

Cannons will ring out along the Tennessee River in both Benton and Humphreys Counties to commemorate the 156th anniversary of the Civil War Battle of Johnsonville. The free Civil War Days festival will feature Civil War-era living history presenters, live musical performances, weaponry demonstrations and more at both Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park and Johnsonville State Historic Park.

We'll tour sites that today can only be visited by water. You can rent ($20), or bring your own ($10) canoe to take part in the program.

Advanced Junior Ranger Experience

Johnsonville State Historic Park is hosting an overnight Advanced Junior Ranger Experience where we will learn more about the lives of Tennessee State Park Rangers. While doing so we will explore the Civil War and Town era history of Johnsonville, and learn more about the plants and animals that today call our park Home. Participants must turn 13 in 2020 to be eligible to register.
